My wife was lamenting the fact that a large supermarket chain didn’t stock any ‘decent rubbers’ and that the staff were a bit bemused / confused until she made the action of erasing pencil …etc. I burst out laughing when she told me about it. She then mentioned that they didn’t stock any of the old white ‘steadler’ rubbers, ‘just cheap hard rubbers that are useless’ I kept correcting her saying , ‘eraser ‘ not ‘rubber’! She’s adamant that they should be called rubbers and not erasers and everyone should know what she means…blah blah blah. Went through a robust interview assessment and company seemed good fit and vice versa. The offer via docusign comes through and its now stating £35K. I replied back to ask if it was an oversight and they said it wasn't. They said they want to see how I perform first and then consider a revisement of my pay in a years time.
