Google Pixel 9a vs. Pixel 9

15 June 2025 @ 11:02 am

With the Google Pixel 9a having launched a few months ago and the Google Pixel 9 hitting shelves nearly a year back, a common dilemma arises—should you opt for the newer mid-range model or stick with last year’s flagship? It’s a valid question, especially given their similar pricing and shared DNA. In Europe, the Pixel 9 costs about €100 more than the 9a, while in the US, the gap widens to $150. On paper, the two phones have a lot in common—identical displays, matching chipsets, and comparable camera setups. But look a little closer, and a few key differences emerge. For some, they may...

Weekly poll: iOS 26 and Liquid Glass, love them or hate them?

15 June 2025 @ 8:03 am

iOS 26 is billed as the biggest overhaul of Apple’s smartphone operating system in a long while. It’s also part of an effort to create a unified UI across all Apple platforms. What do you think about it? The new UI, called Liquid Glass, was inspired by visionOS (for Apple’s XR headset) and it has already been applied to Apple’s first-party apps (Google can be a bit slow in adopting the latest Android UI design language). We’ve seen people praise the new look as well as people that hate it and so we wanted to get your opinion. People who like it, say that the fluidity is great and...

Deals: Xiaomi 15 and 15 Ultra prices fall to new low, plus some more affordable offers

15 June 2025 @ 5:01 am

The pricing of Xiaomi’s 15-series has reached a new low, offering a choice between a relatively compact flagship and an all-out camera phone. We know that many don’t consider the Xiaomi 15 to be “small” with its 6.36” display and 71.2mm width. Still, it’s one of the smaller Snapdragon 8 Elite flagships and, unlike say a Galaxy S25, it has triple 50MP cameras on the back. This includes a main with a large 1/1.31” sensor, a 2.6x/60mm telephoto and a 115° ultra-wide. The phone runs on a 5,240mAh battery with fast charging (90W wired, 50W wireless) and gets great battery life. The display...

Weekly poll results: the Realme GT 7 is great if you can get it at a discount, GT 7T not so much

15 June 2025 @ 2:04 am

The Realme GT 7 and GT 7T may have been announced together, but last week’s poll suggests that they will go on very different paths in life. The GT 7 is proving to be quite popular, even if the MSRP is high, while the GT 7T has failed to convince most people that it is a good pick. Starting on a positive note, the Realme GT 7 saw a third of the votes go in its favor and a third saying that it’s a good phone, but it’s pricey. However, that isn’t necessarily the case – we saw people in the comments saying that they got great deals on the phone. So if MSRP turned you away, have another look...
