The Hidden Messages of the Power Elite’s Cultural Apparatus

5 May 2024 @ 9:00 am

To be crucified is to suffer and die slowly and agonizingly.  It was a common form of execution in the ancient world.  It is generally associated with Rome’s killing of Jesus and carries profound symbolic spiritual meaning for Christians.  In its figurative sense, it refers to many types of suffering and death inflicted on the …

Alice in Wonderland

I used to be shocked and amazed when weird things happened in the world that seemed to be connected to each other, but were too weird to be just a coincidence. Now I think it’s funny. Not in a “ha ha” sort of way, but in a “this is so strange, and so obviously connected …

We have no piece on their piechart

There is a lusty bird that sings at dusk outside my window high in the cedar tree. I’ve never seen him but he warbles wildly and poignantly as if to say for the night, “come live with me and be my love.” He is a lonely child of the wilderness spreading his heart to the dying wind knowing the sun is going down and he will be alone watching the predators on the ground, waiting for daybreak.

Fighting Monsters

How Many Days Would February Have if the Earth Rotated Backward? Exploring Leap Years with Wolfram Language

29 February 2024 @ 3:59 pm

Happy Leap Day 2024! A leap day is an extra day (February 29) that is added to the Gregorian calendar (the calendar most of us use day to day) in leap years. While leap years most commonly come in four-year intervals, they sometimes come every eight years. This is because a traditional leap day every […]

Your Invitation to Take a Quantum Leap in Education

27 February 2024 @ 11:02 pm

Learning quantum theory requires dedication and a willingness to challenge classical assumptions. Quantum interference, particularly for massive particles, is a pivotal example in this journey. The Schrödinger equation, inspired by de Broglie’s hypothesis, revolutionized our understanding by revealing the wavelike nature of even massive particles. This phenomenon not only deepens our grasp of nature but […]

Reduce Quantum Noise with Wolfram Language and Fire Opal

27 February 2024 @ 4:42 pm

Practical quantum computers have not entered the mainstream, but that has not stopped researchers and developers from innovating. Simulating quantum results on classical hardware and getting meaningful results from noisy quantum hardware are two important areas with lots of recent innovations. The Wolfram Quantum Framework is a toolkit for Wolfram Language that offers quantum simulations. […]

Hypergeometric Functions: From Euler to Appell and Beyond

25 January 2024 @ 5:35 pm

Hypergeometric series appeared in the mid-seventeenth century; since then, they have played an important role in the development of mathematical and physical theories. Most of the elementary and special functions are members of the large hypergeometric class. Hypergeometric functions have been a part of Wolfram Language since Version 1.0. The following plot shows the implementation […]

Error message "Unhandled Runtime Error " NextJs

6 May 2024 @ 2:24 am

I am using prisma and supabase to create a store database. I keep running into this issue when making database queries: "Error: Invalid prisma.user.count() invocation: Error occurred during query execution: ConnectorError(ConnectorError { user_facing_error: None, kind: QueryError(PostgresError { code: "26000", message: "prepared statement "s4" does not exist", severity: "ERROR", detail: None, column: None, hint: None }), transient: false })" I think it has something to do with the number of queries I am making but can't find anything is supabase docs about this issue.

Ionic Storage (Ionic 8, Angular 17) error: `ERROR NullInjectorError: NullInjectorError: No provider for Storage`

6 May 2024 @ 2:24 am

I am encountering the following error in my browser console: ERROR NullInjectorError: NullInjectorError: No provider for Storage!, upon attempting to configure Ionic Storage within Ionic 8 (Angular 17). Any guidance on the correct setup procedure would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. I have adhered to the official documentation guidelines for implementing Ionic Storage within an independent service. The following is the content of the storage.service.js file: import { Injectable } from '@angular/core'; @Injectable({ providedIn: 'root', }) export class StorageService { private _storage: Storage | null = null; constructor(private storage: Storage) { this.init(); } async init() { const storage = await this.storage['create'](); this._storage = storage; } public async get(key: string) { const value = await this._storage?.['get'](key); return value; } public async set(key: string,

How to find which option or property is causing recompilation in CMake?

6 May 2024 @ 2:21 am

I have a large project, but due to bad CMake scripts, as long as I modify any of the CMakeLists.txt file, a full recompilation will be triggered. I want to find what is considered out-of-date by CMake and why, what should I do generally? Is it possible to get a verbose ouput of what happened after a modification?

Can I put as many if statements in a while loop as I want without fear of slowing the program? [duplicate]

6 May 2024 @ 2:18 am

I am writing a game in python with a game loop that has many if statements in it. Each statement basically says: "If the player is on this level, run this level". All these if statements are right after one another, and I am starting to worry that if the computer has to check to see if each level is being played every frame, it will start to lag. Is the fact that my program will be checking hundreds of if statements every frame a problem? How efficient is a computer at doing this? I have considered running a new loop every time the player switches levels, but google refuses to tell me if this is okay or not, and it would mean a lot of rewriting (which I am fine with doing, if I need to).

Next.js load video remotely from Instagram

6 May 2024 @ 2:17 am

I'm attempting to load a video remotely from Instagrams servers into my Next.js app and play it. I'm being met with a 403 Forbidden. Instagram is giving this URL to access the video: https://scontent-syd2-1.cdninstagram.com I'm doing a very basic JSX output like so: <video src={MY_INSTA_URL} type="video/mp4"></video> Is there any way I can update the next.config.js to allow videos from this address? ---UPDATE--- I should mention that I have successfully loaded images from Instagram by adding this snippet to my next.config.js const nextConfig = { images: { remotePatterns: [ { protocol: "https", hostname: "scontent-syd2-1.cdninstagram.com", port: "", pathname: "/**", }, ], }, };

Docker and MariaDB, really very slow query

And I have this docker-compose.yml: name: mariadb_app services: app: image: mysql_mariadb environment: MARIADB_ROOT_PASSWORD: "test" ports: - "3307:3307" networks: - nets volumes: - ./Config/mariadb.cnf:/etc/mysql/mariadb.cnf:ro - C:/Docker/Data/MariaDB_DATA:/var/lib/mysql networks: nets: external: true And I use this to start container: docker-compose -f docker-compose.yml up --build -d And finally this is "mariadb.cnf" file: [mysqld] wait_timeout = 288

Need return context info

6 May 2024 @ 2:15 am

needs your help for the problem I am encountering a weeks now. For the context, I am sending a message to another MQ by simply sending the BLOB message only and then they will reply to my local queue with BLOB. My local queue will pick it up and format it as JSON and send via HTTP Reply. On the HTTP Reply, I need to return the httpId which located from the BLOB response and it is the leading 8 characters. After checking the logs, I get an error from the Response saying "Need return context info". My response structure flow is below: MQ node ---> Compute node ----> HTTP Reply ---> Log node My Compute node code: BROKER SCHEMA response Path shared; CREATE COMPUTE MODULE PolicyUpdateResponse CREATE FUNCTION Main() RETURNS BOOLEAN BEGIN DECLARE httpId BLOB SUBSTRING(CAST(InputRoot.BLOB.BLOB AS CHARACTER CCSID 1208) FROM 1 FOR 8); SET OutputLocalEnvironment.Destination.HTTP.ReplyIdentif
