How I Get Free Traffic from ChatGPT in 2025 (AIO vs SEO)

4 December 2025 @ 5:37 am

Three weeks ago, I tested something that completely changed how I think about organic traffic. I opened ChatGPT and asked a simple question: "What's the best course on building SaaS with WordPress?" The answer that appeared stopped me cold. My course showed up as the first result, recommended directly by the AI with specific reasons why it was valuable.I hadn't paid for advertising. I hadn't done any special promotion. The AI simply decided my content was the best answer to that question and served it to the user. This wasn't luck or a fluke. When I tested the same query in Perplexity, the same thing happened. My website ranked at the top of AI-generated responses, pulling in free traffic directly from AI models that millions of people now use as their primary search tool. This represents a fundamental shift in how people discover content online. For years, we've optimized for Google's algorithm, carefully crafting meta

How do I prevent my employer from accessing PCs at my home?

18 June 2026 @ 9:42 pm

For an indeterminate amount of time, I will have a work laptop, which I can bring home. My boss told me that she wants me to leave it on, so my employer's IT can push out updates to the work laptop, etc. I understand what my employer wants. But I am not comfortable with the idea of exposing all my personal computers at home, to my employer. That isn't their business, either. So, first question is, does having my work laptop turned on and connected to my home Wi-Fi enough for my employer to push updates to it? Networking is not in my wheelhouse, so I don't know if that's possible or not. I would think that I would have to connect to my employer's domain for them to push updates to the laptop 24/7. Am I correct or can just having it powered up and connected to my home Wi-Fi enough for them to push updates to the laptop? And if the answer to that question is Yes, then can they look at any of my home machines? If the answer to my last question is yes, then I have an option

Does 7z support editing archived file metadata without recompression?

18 June 2026 @ 5:33 pm

I've got a few hundred 7z archives that were recompressed with a very high compression level, and it took a very long time to process them all. While inspecting the original archives, I found that many of the non-executable files had the executable permission bit set, and these permissions were preserved in the recompressed archives. As far as I know, 7z rn is the only command that modifies file metadata inside an existing archive, but it only affects filenames, which is effectively renaming files right in the archive. Is there any way to modify other archived file metadata, such as permission bits or timestamps, without recreating the archive (i.e. without using 7z a or 7z u)?

Why does Rocky Linux 10 hang on reboot with ZFS?
