Honor Magic8 Pro battery life and charging speed
7 December 2025 @ 10:01 am
After the brief hands-on report we got on the Honor Magic8 Pro (including benchmark runs and camera samples), we now have a review-in-progress update for you, with some of the more important numbers now ready. We did the usual battery testing, plus a few rounds of charging and here are the results.
Honor Magic8 Pro battery life
The Magic8 Pro's battery capacity varies by region. The China version gets the largest capacity, at 7,200mAh, while European Magics (like the version we're reviewing) are capped at 6,270mAh.
There's another version that's for markets outside of China and...Weekly deals: Pixel 10 series, Nothing Phone (3), (3a) Pro, Xiaomi 15T in Germany
7 December 2025 @ 6:31 am
After the few Black Friday-themed weeks of feverish discounts on everything, discounts have slowed down a bit. Still, there are some deals to be had, and we've rounded up a few from Amazon Germany for you guys and gals!
Google has traditionally kept its Pixel series at a good price compared to its rivals, and now is no different. You can snag a member of the Pixel 10 series for less - the base model 10 is 20% off, while the Pixel 10 Pro in its 512GB guise and the 10 Pro XL in its 256GB guise are down on price.
Google...Weekly poll: is the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold the form factor of the future, your next phone even?
7 December 2025 @ 3:01 am
Earlier this year, we ran a poll on the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate, the first commercially available tri-fold smartphone. The key takeaways from that were: 1) 26.4% said “I want a tri-foldable, but cheaper”, 2) 22.1% said “I want a Mate XT Ultimate” and 3) 16.7% said “I want a tri-fold, but not from Huawei”. This week Samsung may have delivered the answers to 1) and 3).
May have. The Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold will go on sale next week and we only have the Korean price to go off on. It’s roughly 40% higher than the equivalent Z Fold7 (512GB storage), which means that the global pricing should...Weekly poll results: the Poco F8 Ultra is a hot commodity, the Poco F8 Pro stays in its shadow
6 December 2025 @ 11:01 pm
The results from last week’s poll are clear – the Poco F8 Ultra is not the best flagship, but it is certainly the best Poco F8 model. And to be fair, it’s not trying to be the best flagship. Its price is so aggressively low that it is making people question whether they actually need the higher end features.
Poco’s site still lists the Ultra at its early bird price of €700 for the 256GB version and €750 for the 512GB one. However, they are showing “out of stock” (also, Amazon briefly had a better price at €650/€700). For comparison, the Realme GT 8 Pro is €1,100 for a 512GB unit (note:...Weekly deals: Google Pixel 10 and Motorola Razr 2025 phones have their prices slashed
6 December 2025 @ 7:28 pm
Black Friday and Cyber Monday are behind us, but they were only the start of holiday shopping.
The OnePlus 15 is now up for pre-order in the US and units will ship out by the end of the year – even though regulatory hurdles were cleared, it seems that the company will need some time to spin up its sales machine. Amazon US will also be selling the new flagship.

...Motorola Edge 70's India launch teased by Flipkart
6 December 2025 @ 3:23 pm
Motorola has been teasing the launch of a thin smartphone in India for the past few days, which we now know is the Motorola Edge 70, courtesy of Indian e-commerce platform Flipkart.
Flipkart has set up a promo page for the Edge 70 on its website, stating the smartphone is "coming soon" without revealing its launch date. However, if rumors are to be believed, the Edge 70 will debut in India around December 15 for under INR35,000.

Moreover, the Edge 70 is also rumored to pack a bigger battery in India while retaining its 5.99 mm profile. The global model comes with a...Jolla announces the new Jolla Phone with Sailfish OS 5 and a physical privacy switch
6 December 2025 @ 1:23 pm
Finnish company Jolla has announced a new smartphone after a long hiatus from launching new models. It is called the Jolla Phone and is advertised by Jolla as an "independent European Do It Together (DIT) Linux phone."
Jolla says the Jolla Phone is a "real Linux phone" because it runs "actual Linux" on the inside, "not a pseudo-Linux." But that's at the core. From the user's point of view, you get version 5 of the privacy-focused Sailfish OS, advertised as the "only European mobile operating system."

Intel will soon make chips for Apple, including for iPhones, according to new rumor
6 December 2025 @ 6:45 am
Apple used to employ Intel chips in its laptops and desktops, but moved away from them once the in-house designed M-series chips arrived. Now it seems like the company is on the verge of reaching a new deal with Intel, but this will be different.
Intel will just be making chips for Apple - it won't be involved in the design phase at all. Basically, Apple wants to not depend entirely on TSMC for chip fabrication, and Intel is the way to do that.
GF Securities analyst Jeff Pu says he and his colleagues now expect a deal between Intel and Apple to be reached for at least some non-Pro...The European Commission fines X $140 million for its deceptive blue checkmark
6 December 2025 @ 3:03 am
The European Commission (EC) has today reached a verdict on an investigation of X that started in 2024. The EC has fined the social network €120 million (approximately $140 million), finding that its blue checkmark was deceptive since it implies a user who has it is verified, but anyone can pay to obtain this status "without the company meaningfully verifying who is behind the account".
This violates the obligation, under the EU's Digital Services Act (DSA), for online platforms to "prohibit deceptive design practices on their services".
The fine also covers X's advertisement...videocardz.com
