by joepunman I'm a firm believer that the first few years or so that you get into a particular medium are the most influential. I'm a huge fan of 80's and 90's music (moreso 90's) because that's the era a grew up in, and that was the music of the times. Similar with movies, many of my favorites were made in the 80's and 90's. Video games - very little can beat the era of Super NES. For Board games, I played some as a kid, but they were mostly card games and casual board games (Scattergories, Spades, Hearts). When I really started getting into the hobby as an adult, which was around 2013-2014, many of the games I discovered in the first couple years tend to be my favorites (especially 2016 greats like Scythe, Great Western Trail, and Terraforming Mars).

In his Power On newsletter, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that the Extensions feature will have its own dedicated section within the App Store, effectively serving as a marketplace for AI integrations. Google Pixel 11 CAD-based renders leak

30 March 2026 @ 7:31 pm

Earlier this month, CAD-based renders portraying the upcoming Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold leaked, and today the vanilla Pixel 11 is getting the exact same treatment. Like the Pro Fold, this one is expected to become official in August. Compared to its predecessor from 2025, the Pixel 11 has noticeably smaller bezels, as well as a tweaked camera island design. The oval-shaped island is now fully covered by glass - the metallic part on its right side is gone. That said, the design overall is very Pixel-like and doesn't change a lot. If you were waiting for a huge redesign, this won't...

But the company is also eager to let us know that it has an X300s competitor of sorts in the pipeline as well, namely the Find X9s Pro. The company has just published the teaser video you can see below on its official Weibo account. The Find X9s Pro will have a 200MP main camera and a 200MP periscope telephoto camera, which is a setup that has also been rumored in the past for the non-Pro Find X9s. vivo X300s announced with 200MP main camera and optional Photography Kit

30 March 2026 @ 2:31 pm

In addition to the X300 Ultra camera flagship, vivo is also introducing the X300s today – this one fills a gap between the small 6.3” X300 (CNY 4,600 for a 12/256GB model) and the large-but-pricey 6.78” X300 Pro (CNY 5,600 for a 12/256GB phone). The vivo X300s has a starting price of CNY 5,000 (there’s a more detailed breakdown below) and features a 6.78” 144Hz OLED display with 1,260 x 2,800px resolution (20:9) and 10-bit colors. It’s an LTPO panel (BOE Q10 Plus), which makes it nearly identical to the Pro display (it’s missing Dolby Vision, but that’s about it). The vivo X300s has a...

AirDrop support for older Galaxy S devices is getting closer

30 March 2026 @ 1:29 pm

Android makers never quite managed to make a local file sharing solution that is as good as Apple’s AirDrop – and they tried. So, as the saying goes, if you can’t beat them, join them. The Samsung Galaxy S26 series (S26, S26+, S26 Ultra), the only phones that run stable One UI 8.5 at the moment, already have official AirDrop support via the Quick Share feature. And soon, older models will get it too. A number of people are reporting that their Quick Share settings screen has a new “Share with Apple devices” toggle. However, while the feature is visible, it doesn’t actually work for...

vivo X300 Ultra is official with near 1" 35mm camera, new 200MP 85mm zoom

30 March 2026 @ 12:33 pm

The vivo X300 Ultra has just arrived officially! It continues the refinement of the series and doesn't diverge from the core specs of its predecessors. That means, its camera system has gotten better with both better hardware and software, but it's fundamentally the same 14mm + 35mm + 85mm premier-quality setup. The vivo X200 Ultra brought the large sensor 1/1.28-inch 14mm ultrawide, and the X300 Ultra seemingly reuses it for 2026. The 85mm zoom may sound the same - 200MP 1/1.4-inch - but it uses Samsung's newer ISOCELL HP0 sensor, which brings twice as fast autofocus (vivo claims...

Oppo Pad Mini showcased ahead of launch with extremely thin and light body

30 March 2026 @ 11:13 am

Oppo's premium small tablet Pad Mini is expected to arrive in April alongside the Find X9 Ultra, Watch X3 Mini and the Enco Clip 2 earbuds, but an Oppo official shared a short teaser video of the tablet ahead of launch. And although short, we got a glimpse of what to expect. The Pad Mini is described as "incredibly thin and light", featuring razor-thin bezels. By the looks of it, it features an aluminum-clad chassis with a simplistic design and a dual-camera setup on the back, which corroborates earlier findings. Speaking of earlier findings, recent leaks suggest that...

Leaked iPhone 18 Pro screen protector reveals narrower Dynamic Island cutout

30 March 2026 @ 10:07 am

We’ve been seeing conflicting reports about the Dynamic Island on the iPhone 18 series, which has been rumored to shrink in size. We now have images of an alleged iPhone 18 Pro screen protector, which shows the slimmed-down Dynamic Island. iPhone 17 Pro screen protector (top) vs iPhone 18 Pro (bottom) The pill-shaped cutout housing the TrueDepth camera and Face ID sensors appears slimmer, and according to the post on Weibo, it measures 13.49mm compared to the 17 Pro’s 20.76mm wide cutout. Outside of the slimmer cutout, the iPhone 18 Pro appears to have identically sized display...
