Chargers explained - how to pick up the right phone charger
13 December 2025 @ 10:51 pm
The answer to the question “what charger should I use for my phone?” used to be simple – the right charger came in the box. That hasn’t been true for a while now, at least not for most phones in most regions. Now you are expected to go out and buy your own charger. But which one?
The main problem is that the U in USB is a lie – it’s universal only if you are okay with outdated data speeds and slow charging. If you want more than 480Mbps and 10W, then things are a lot more fractured.
There are standards that come from the USB Implementers Forum and all phones do support them as a...Apple watchOS 26.2 released with refined Sleep Score classifications
13 December 2025 @ 7:41 pm
Apple has released watchOS 26.2, which comes with a refined Sleep Score classification and an updated score range.
Here's what the updated Sleep Score classification with the new score range looks like: Very Low (0-40), Low (41-60), OK (61-80), High (81-95), and Very High (96-100).
In addition to the new Sleep Score classification, watchOS 26.2 comes with "Enhanced Safety Alerts," which can notify users of imminent threats such as natural disasters, floods, and other emergencies. The alerts will include "rich information like a map of affected areas and links to additional safety...OnePlus 15 gets Neon camera filter and bypass charging support for non-gaming activities with the latest update
13 December 2025 @ 4:41 pm
OnePlus has released the OxygenOS 16.0.2.401 update for the OnePlus 15. It comes with the December 2025 Android security patch and adds a "Neon" filter to the default Camera app, recreating the CineStill 800T film effect.
With the new update, the filter in the Photos app now supports "Motion Photo," "Screenshots & screen recordings," and "Edited" options, making image and video filtering easier. Moreover, the update enables the bypass charging feature on the OnePlus 15 for gaming and non-gaming activities.

13 December 2025 @ 1:41 pm
Introduction
Hi, I'm Ivan, one of the editors and the person who takes the vast majority of phone pictures here at GSMArena.com. I’ve been around for a few years now, getting an extremely privileged vantage point for overseeing the world of smartphones. And, I'm noticing some fundamental changes to our smartphone lives. Smartphones have become more nuanced than ever before.
Most of my colleagues and I choose a flagship phone as our daily driver. That choice was down to the brand and its way of doing software. There was a time when we were evenly split between the current iPhone and the...Weekly deals: Discounts on Pixel 10 Pro Fold, Pixel 10, Galaxy S25 lineup, and more

...Apple releases iOS 26.2 and iPadOS 26.2, here's what's new
13 December 2025 @ 8:35 am
Today Apple has released both iOS 26.2 and iPadOS 26.2 for supported iPhones and iPads. iOS 26.2 brings with it an option to activate an alarm when a reminder is due, an option to change the opacity of the time on the lock screen, improved AirDrop functionality, and new features inside the Podcasts app.
It also makes Live Translation work on AirPods in the EU, and adds support for alternative app stores and third-party voice assistants in Japan.
iPadOS 26.2 continues to improve multitasking by letting you drag and drop apps from the dock, Spotlight Search, and the App Library to...Redmi confirms the Note 15 5G's battery capacity
13 December 2025 @ 5:35 am
A couple of days ago, Redmi officially started its teaser campaign for the upcoming Note 15 5G, revealing that it has a 108MP main camera just like its predecessor.
Today, the brand has also revealed that the Redmi Note 15 5G comes with a 5,520 mAh battery. That capacity was already rumored, and it's good to see it confirmed. For what it's worth, it's 410 mAh larger than the Redmi Note 14 5G's.
The battery will support 45W wired charging, and Redmi claims it will last you 1.6 days of usage, whatever that means. It also promises "up to 5 years battery life", which we assume means it...Google Translate is now powered by Gemini, includes live translations on headphones
13 December 2025 @ 2:33 am
Today Google is finally revamping Google Translate, infusing it with Gemini capabilities in order to improve translations, especially on phrases with nuanced meanings like idioms, local expressions, or slang.
This, Google says, is state-of-the-art translation quality, and you can find it in Google Search and in the Translate app on iOS and Android. The update is rolling out in the US and India today translating between English and "nearly 20 languages" including Spanish, Hindi, Chinese, Japanese, and German.
There's also a new beta experience that lets you hear real-time...Swiss Competition Commission is now investigating Apple for iPhone NFC access
13 December 2025 @ 12:21 am
Apple has found itself in the crosshairs of the European Commission many times over the past few years, and now it's also being investigated by the Swiss Competition Commission (SCC).
This has to do with access to NFC on iPhones. Apple started to allow third-party access to the NFC chip last year, following an initial opening up in the EU. But if you want to use the iPhone's NFC chip, you need to enter into a commercial agreement with Apple and pay the fees it requests, and that is precisely what the SCC is investigating.
Namely, the SCC is trying to ascertain whether Apple's terms...A folding screen replacement for the Galaxy Z TriFold will sting
12 December 2025 @ 10:22 pm
Samsung's Galaxy Z TriFold went on sale in Korea today, promptly selling out despite its huge price point (around $2,400 at the current exchange rate). Speaking of huge price points, we just found out how much a replacement for the inner folding screen will cost for the TriFold.
In Korea, this repair will be priced at KRW 1,657,500 at the lowest level. That's approximately $1,122, which makes this officially the most expensive Samsung smartphone screen replacement in history, but given the type of display we're talking about here, that's not really surprising, is it?
