Thread: Board Game Design:: Dice mechanic thoughts.

21 February 2026 @ 6:29 am

by TheWrongHero Hello all, I've been working on a skirmish game and a I've only played one or two others wanted to know what other people think about the attack/defend mechanic in using. Each player has an attack +/- modifier and a defense +/- modifier, when a player attacks both players roll 3d6 and add their respective modifier the player with the lowest recieves damage equal to the difference of the dice rolls. The idea behind this mechanic is that both players are part of the action and potentially keeps the game moving faster as players will make more tactical choices and not just jump into every fight.

Thread: General Gaming:: Religious communities and board game communities

21 February 2026 @ 6:27 am

by PikaPomelo Preface: The intent here is to understand and not to try to say something should be one way or another. Is there a connection between religious communities and game playing in our current board game communities? Is it simply that religious communities are communities and all communities will find things to do including playing games? And many people participate in religious communities? In my local community, there are board game events at non-religious spaces like the public library and game stores, but also at local Christian churches. There are quite a few Christian churches within walking distance of me, so I suppose that shouldn't be too surprising. As someone who has never participated in organized religious communities (maybe, see below), it is often surprising to hear people mention playing games in these groups. It probably shouldn't be, it's just no

Google introduced its Titan M2 security chip with the Pixel 6 devices back in 2021, and it's still present in the Pixel 10 family, but it's obviously getting a little bit long in the tooth after more than four years. The good news is that a new rumor claims the Titan M3 is coming later this year to the Pixel 11 series alongside the Tensor G6 SoC. It's unclear exactly what will be new in the Titan M3, but it is allegedly codenamed Google Epic, so clearly it will be a massive improvement over its predecessor - otherwise why call it that? For reference, note that the Titan M2 handles...
