by IsolatedPawn I never said any of that, and you've now crossed the line into being insufferable, so this will be my last comment on the matter.I specifically said good human art is still better than AI art.Personally, I don't care, at all, about the environmental impact of creating boardgame artwork. All things being equal, less is better, but it is so insignificant that it just doesn't matter. The actual environmental impact of boardgames is in the production and global transportation of them, and also people gathering to play them, if they're using transportation. The design aspects to focus on, for someone who cares, would be on the selection of components, box size, and location of production.Once the image is created for the box cover, it takes exactly the same amount of resources to print 25k copies of AI art or 25k copies of human art.Where that's not true is compo

22 June 2026 @ 4:17 am

by Applefiend I've primarily played solo, and I find that the Simulacrum is too easy to beat on Normal difficulty (no heat). I haven't lost to the Simulacrum in 5 solo plays (but some games have been close).Usually if the Simulacrum has a great first turn, then it usually means it has used its very powerful cards which allows you to make a comeback in the later rounds. You need to be more judicious about which Locations you are prepared to lose to the Simulacrum and which Locations you really want to win. There are lots of direct strategies and tactics to keep the Simulacrum under control. For example if the Simulacrum is building up a lot of influence in the Council, you want to win The Castle in order to remove their influence. If the Simulacrum has a lot of Gold cards in the discard pile, then don't let them win the Necropolis and allow them to return their Gold cards to their deck etc. I try to

Motorola Edge 70 Pro in for review

21 June 2026 @ 8:31 am

This is the Motorola Edge 70 Pro. It launched back in April, and it costs €540 with 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. Depending on the location, there are a few Pantone colors to choose from: Titan, Zinfandel, Lily White, and Tea. In the box, you'll find the phone, a USB-C cable, and a hard case with MagSafe, which is a nice touch. In keeping with its moniker, the Edge 70 Pro is thin and light, measuring just over 7mm and 190 grams. It's also curved on both sides, which isn't the norm for a slab phone these days. We like the phone's feel in the hand, though it's a bit slippery,...

Weekly poll: what device do you use for gaming? A smartphone, tablet, PC or console?

21 June 2026 @ 5:00 am

The gaming market has had a rough go of it this decade – first COVID slowed down the rollout of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, then the crypto boom vacuumed up available GPUs, now AI has made RAM chips the new gold. This has led to smartphone makers rising prices, but PCs and consoles are just as affected – the PS5, the Xbox, the Steam Deck and the Nintendo Switch all got more expensive. And that’s just some of the more high-profile products. Services are feeling the pain too – Microsoft wanted to raise the price of Game Pass, but changed its mind after loud complaints from...

Weekly poll results: iOS 27 is okay, just okay

21 June 2026 @ 1:33 am

iOS 27 was met with a resounding “it’s okay” in last week’s poll. Okay, the sentiment among iPhone users actually leans towards positive, but most voters couldn’t work up enough enthusiasm for it to pick the “love it” option. To be fair, this release was focused on sanding off the rough edges of the major Liquid Glass redesign and on finally delivering on promises about AI features that Apple made a long while ago. Remember all the Apple Intelligence demos during the iPhone 16 launch? Yeah, Siri AI is launching later this year, likely alongside the iPhone 18 Pro models. Even if you...

Reminder: Prime Day is next week. You will need an active Prime subscription to get the lower prices, though the free trial usually works – unless you have already used it recently. This week, you don’t need Prime to get these deals. The Samsung Galaxy S25 FE stayed at MSRP for a few weeks after the launch of the Galaxy A57. Now the FE model is back where it should be – at just under $600 for the 8/256GB model. We have a detailed Galaxy S25 FE vs. A57 comparison article to help you choose between these two (though given that they cost the same, the choice is easy enough). ...

Motorola bumps up the storage on the Edge 70 Fusion

20 June 2026 @ 4:08 pm

Motorola launched the Edge 70 Fusion in March, and so far it's been available in India with up to 256GB of storage. Now, however, the company has announced a new variant which pairs 12GB of RAM with 512GB of storage. [#InlinePriceWidget,14432,1#] The price for the new model is INR 36,999, which translates into about $391 at the current exchange rate. You can pick one up from Motorola’s online store in Pantone Silhouette, Pantone Blue Surf, or Pantone Orient Blue. The other specs have of course remained the same. So you get a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and...

20 June 2026 @ 1:56 pm

Prime Day is next week – it will run from June 23 to the 26th. However, Amazon Germany has already started offering early Prime Day deals. You need a subscription for these, but the free trial will work just fine. There is a mix of old and new models below, though, usually, the newer model makes more sense. Also, more often than not, the upgrade to the higher storage tier is quite cheap and well worth taking. We’ll start with the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra and S25 Ultra – check out our in-depth comparison if you need help deciding between these two. In short, the 2026 Ultra brings Privacy...

RugOne Xlink 7 hands-on review

20 June 2026 @ 11:27 am

We love the outdoors, and what better time to get back to hiking? Naturally, we can’t go without some tech and RugOne, part of the Ulefone family, sent us their Xlink 7. Well, they actually sent us two of them, and we got to test them out as intended. So, what is the Xlink 7 anyway? Well, it’s a walkie-talkie. But not the type you may have played around with as a kid. This is an “AI 4G communicator” with “unlimited range” as RugOne puts it. A modern-day walkie-talkie complete with a rugged and waterproof build, unlimited 4G connectivity, and as “mandatory” for any device in 2026 -...
