by GruenesFeuer Personally, I wouldn't dream of picking up new players without also giving them an equivalently thorough explanation of the rules.When I introduce new players (Warning: That means experienced board gamers who just haven't played Heat yet), I start with the upgrades and weather immediately. Out of fairness, I make sure to explain the upgrades well, and even assist by recommending good ones they would probably be able to utilize properly.Really, I effectively try to bridge some of the experience gap by forecasting what playpatterns will be essential. If they make very egregious misplays that would throw them out of the game, I tend to explain the mistake and the expected play with reasoning, and let them undo (perhaps with a mild penalty like paying a Heat or no slipstreaming).
